The 20th anniversary edition of OUT.FEST will take place from 2 to 6 October in various venues in Barreiro, with more than thirty concerts in various spaces in the South Bank city. Two decades of passion for music. The festival's organisers reflect on the trust the public has placed in them over the years, highlighting the importance of sharing and exploring new sounds:
“The truth is: yes, in 2004, we started something called OUT.FEST, which may have been nothing more than an unthought translation of a deep, underlying impulse of ours, and of so many others, to share music that we love, that we believe everyone should love, and that we often couldn't understand why it wasn't universally loved; from that year 0 to the 2024 we are in now, little has changed, and everything has changed - the impulse persists, but it has been gradually shaped by identity, ideas, ways of doing and undoing, words to communicate, sensitivity, love and disappointment for the city that created it, difficulties and the privilege of being able to overcome them, the audiences, the Music itself, Listening itself, the whole World which is always the same and yet new every day.
Here we are, then, in 2024, for the 20th edition of your OUT.FEST. We mark the occasion, first, by our continued dedication to the Sounds that continue to fascinate us - nothing matters more than this desire to share and thrust them into discovery, honoring the trust placed in our Ears year after year…

A edição que marca o 20º aniversário do OUT.FEST, realiza-se de 2 a 6 de outubro em várias salas do Barreiro, com mais de trinta concertos em diversos espaços da cidade da Margem Sul. São duas décadas de paixão pela música. A Organização do festival reflete sobre a confiança que o público depositou ao longo dos anos, destacando a importância de compartilhar e explorar novos sons:
“A verdade é que sim - em 2004 começámos uma coisa chamada OUT.FEST que não terá sido mais que uma tradução impensada de um impulso muito nosso, e de tantos, para partilhar música que amamos, que achamos que todos deveriam amar, que tantas vezes não compreendíamos como não era amada universalmente; desse ano 0 até ao 2024 em que estamos pouco mudou e tudo mudou - o impulso persiste, mas foram-lhe sendo acrescentadas identidade, idéias, formas de fazer e desfazer, palavras para comunicar, sensibilidade, amores e desamores pela cidade que o fez, dificuldades e o privilégio de as poder ultrapassar, público, a própria Música, o próprio Ouvir, o Mundo todo que é o de sempre e é todos os dias novo.
Aqui, então, em 2024, para a 20a edição do vosso OUT.FEST. Assinalamos a efeméride, primeiro, pela continuada dedicação aos Sons que continuam a fascinar-nos - nada importa mais que esta vontade de partilhar e lançar para a descoberta, honrando a confiança que ano após ano vai sendo depositada nos nossos Ouvidos..
