LE BANDIDO

Not old enough to go to school, he started playing the piano and speaking French. As a boy, he would be absolved by his aunts' out-of-tune singing in the church choir in Soito. Adolescent afternoons followed, listening to the little vinyl records his parents brought from Porto and recording his first love tapes. On a secret visit to a pirate radio station, he spoke for the first time into the ether. When he found himself behind the wheel, he unlocked the brakes, closed his eyes, and started singing in a rock band from his hometown, Arouca. Already working, he exchanged the notes of the day for compact discs. He never forgot his first time behind a cabin. The saloon doors began to open and he started preaching music sermons. He discovered that he was suffering from a musically transmitted disease, vinylis. He doesn't want to be treated. He just wants it written on his last bed, "May record in peace."
